With Bounty Killer being one of Jamaica’s most popular dance hall artiste, his industry brothers and sisters came out in their numbers to support the Five-Star General as he celebrated his birthday at the UDC car park on the waterfront in downtown Kingston.
Beenie Man, Bugle, Spacious, Pamputtae, Bling Dawg were among those in attendance. Jamaica born Safaree was also present and was seen partying it up with Killer. A few of those with whom THE STAR spoke, said they couldn’t miss Killer’s party for anything. They expressed that as a musical family, they live by the motto support for support, and revealed that Bounty Killer has supported many of them in various ways throughout his career.
Although the artistes birthday isn’t until Tuesday, that didn’t stop Saturday’s celebrations from being grand. The bash titled; It’s a Party, pulled a huge crowd especially in the VIP area, as everyone wanted to be close to the man of the moment. Decked out in his usual black attire, Bounty was swathed out from head to toe. He arrived at the venue with close family and friends, including his partner Claudia who sported a gorgeous red dress.
It was clear from the way patrons dressed that Bounty Killers party was an elegant affair — as the women went all out with their gowns and heels. The gentlemen also made fashion statements as well, as fitted suits were the order of the night.
Alonzo Hawk, Metro Media and Bishop Escobar were some of the selectors who took turn at the consoles. When THE STAR team arrived at the venue minutes to 1:00 am, things seemed to be just warning up — early juggling which included a slew of old school reggae, hip hop and R & B hits. Patrons rocked along as they waited on the momentum to pick up. But some were, however, left disappointed, as they complained that the vibes never picked up. They voiced their frustrations aloud as they wondered when the pace would pick up. Luckily things got better as day broke.
Stepping out of the old school vibe and into some modern day tunes, the selectors played songs from the likes of Popcaan, Chronixx, Adonis, Masicka and Rygin king. Some members of the audience were very appreciative as they began to dance, while others complained that it took too long to get there. Although they complained, many stayed and when THE STAR team left the venue at minutes after 5 a.m., patrons were still partying in the morning.
Bounty Killer, who spent most of the night interacting with those who came to support him, seemed pleased at the turnout. Not only was the event well supported in numbers but it was also well supported at the bar. The bars set up in VIP and general were kept busy all night. All in all, a good night was had by patrons and Killer himself.
