Three lucky persons will share $1 million in prize money being offered by dancehall diva Spice in a new dance challenge.
The competition — Magnum ‘Go Down Deh’ dance challenge — which will be held on social media, is the first project on the calendar for the Spice and Magnum Tonic Wine brand partnership.
“There is always something exciting to look forward to in any Spice collaboration with Magnum,” said Spice, who is an ambassador for the beverage brand.
Go Down Deh, her latest collaboration with Shaggy and Sean Paul, has been hugely successful. The music video for the hit single has amassed over eight million views in three weeks on YouTube alone and is doing remarkably well on digital streaming platforms.
“A lot of effort went into this song and I’m very excited about how it’s doing so far. The song is vibrant, so I want to see some brilliant entries; and I can only tell the dancers to do their best and bring it. Who knows, you just might make Team Spice if you go hard enough,” she said.
The brand’s Kamal Powell, Magnum’s regional marketing manager for the Caribbean, shared his views on the competition, “Spice is amazing and Magnum is happy to partner with her on this project, I know it will do well,” he said.
“We are excited to renew this partnership with the ‘Queen of Dancehall’ herself, Spice … it is truly a pleasure working with her and I can’t wait for the projects that we will embark on in the future,” Powell said.
The breakdown of the million-dollar prize is as follows:
* 1st place- $500,000
* 2nd place- $300,000
* 3rd place- $200,000
