Jamaican female artistes Shenseea and Moyann are set to premiere a collaborative single today.
The track was produced by Moyann’s manager and producer DJ Frass, who announced the upcoming project last night.
The news comes almost three months after Shenseea revealed that national female artistes shared no interest in working with her.
“Guys it’s not that I don’t try to do collaborations enuh, especially with Jamaican artistes, it’s just dem nuh waan do none wid me, really and truly,” she said at the time in a livestream. “My manager (Romeich Major) has reached out to a lot of females, dem nuh waan do nuh song wid mi suh weh me fi do?”
She did, however, mention that she would be collaborating with Moyann and Popcaan, which makes the announcement no complete surprise. The ladies have also shown their support of their respective projects throughout the years, with Moyann most recently attending Shenseea’s eyelash launch and Shenseea sharing Moyann’s music video for Backseat on her Instagram page.
Fans shared their excitement in the comments of both artistes, adding that the move should boost Moyann’s visibility based on Shenseea’s expansive audience.
“Shen a send Moyann go road now eno,” one person commented.
“The collab we never knew we needed.”
“Oh my goodness, it’s awe-inspiring.”
“Longtime uno fi do dis.”
“That’s a hit already.”
Another added, “Love this for the culture.”
The move also reaped approval by industry peers Ding Dong, Dovey Magnum, I-Octane, Jordan ‘Chimney’ McClure, Renee Sixthirty, Mario ‘Dunw3ll’ Dunwell and ZJ Chrome.
