Determined to bring some light and hope to those facing challenges during this difficult period, popular producer Notnice has teamed up with a number of reggae and dancehall artistes to create the inspirational anthem, entitled We Are , which is being released today.
The star-studded song feature Nordia Mothersille, Romain Virgo, Jah Cure, Tarrus Riley, Richie Stephens, Tessanne Chin, Julian Marley, Jah Vinci, Jesse Royal, Sanchez, Richie Spice, Maxi Priest, Khalia, and Wayne Marshall.
Net proceeds from the song will be used to facilitate interventions by non-profit organisation RISE Life Management, which delivers community-based interventions in inner-city communities with an emphasis on life management skills, employability and entrepreneurial training, human rights, HIV/AIDS prevention, sexual abuse prevention, and governance and capacity building for civil society organisations islandwide.
Notnice noted that after observing the challenges being faced by many across the world as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, he was inspired to create a song representing hope and encouraging listeners to be positive and look towards the future.
“I want people to know that no matter what they are going through right now, it will get better. Music is such a powerful force and it can impact people so strongly, even more than the official statements from politicians. I am hoping that those who hear this message will be just as positively impacted as I was when I made it.
“Even though I am releasing We Are right now, it’s not a ‘corona’ song. I want it to be timeless and continue to uplift people despite what they may be going through, even 10 years from now. I think there is no better way to communicate a message like that than through song,” he continued.
Musical collaborator Nordia Mothersille also celebrated the song’s impending release.
“I came on board because I believe this song is very fitting for what we are currently experiencing as a country with this COVID-19 pandemic. The process of creating it helped me to find some peace and comfort. I hope that it will do the same for those who listen to it,”she said.
