Hot Koffee Seals Deal

RISING reggae singjay Koffee has inked a deal with Los Angeles-based Creative Arts Agency (CAA) for representation in North and South America, according to pollstar.com.

The 19-year-old, who is managed by Tammi Chang and Pierre Bost, signed the contract last Wednesday.

The talent and sports agency has worked with a number of big names in the music and entertainment industry, including Kanye West, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey.

Image result for koffeeKoffee has been enjoying a number of successes since the release of her five-track EP Rapture.

The set, released by Promised Land Recordings/Columbia Records on March 14, topped the Billboard Reggae Albums chart in that month.

That feat made her the youngest Jamaican to reach number one on the chart. Previously, the youngest person to top the Billboard Reggae Albums chart was Brooklyn-born Jamaican rapper Lil Vicious. He was 15 years old when his debut album for Epic Records, Destination hit the number one spot in 1994.

Image result for koffeeIn March, Koffee (given name Mikayla Simpson) won the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association Award for Song of the Year ( Toast).

The song is featured in Jordan Peele’s horror film Us.

Koffee recently won three International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA) in the categories: Best Female Vocalist; Best Teen Entertainer; and Best New Entertainer.

She is one of the acts on “An Evening with Air Supply and Third World”, at the Couples San Souci resort in Ocho Rios, St Ann, this evening.

In October, she is set to perform at the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
