Collie Buddz’s Hybrid Blooms

Bermudian reggae singer Collie Buddz earns his third number one title on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart with Hybrid.

The 10-song set, released May 24 by Harper Digital, features collaborations with Tech N9ne, Dizzy Wright, Stonebwoy, and B Young.

Collie Buddz previously topped the chart with his 2007 self-titled set, and 2017’s Good Life. 2015’s Blue Dreamz (EP) reached number three.

Elsewhere, California band The Aggrolites enter at number two with Reggae Now. Released May 24 by Pirates Press Records, this is the sixth studio album from the band which previously did backing duties for the likes of Desmond Dekker, Scotty, Phyllis Dillon and Prince Buster.

The Aggrolites previously charted with IV (number two in 2009), Reggae Hit LA (number three in 2007), Opening Night (number six in 2017), and a self-titled set which peaked at number seven in 2006.

Image result for Collie BuddzRapture (EP) by Koffee holds at number three with 1,600 copies sold, while last week’s chart-topper Mass Manipulation by Steel Pulse falls to number four. It opened with first-week sales of 1,310 copies.

Nigerian dancehall/Afrobeat artiste Patoranking debuts at number five with Wilmer. The 12-track album, distributed by Amari Musiq/EMPIRE, has collaborations with Davido, Dadju, Donae’O and Busiswa.

Patroranking reached number four in 2016 with God Over Everything.

Rising from number 10 to six is Free Rein by Rebelution, which has sold 20,996 copies in 49 weeks on the chart, while Black and White by The Green rises from number 15 to number seven.

Swimming Lessons by British band The Skints is up to number eight from 14, while holding firm at number nine is Everyday Life, Everyday People by Slightly Stoopid.

44/876 by Sting and Shaggy drops to number 10 in its 57th week in the top 10.

The hyped Blessed by Shenseea and Tyga, released by Rich Immigrants/Interscope Records, debuts at number two. Toast by Koffee is number three in its 21st week on the chart.
