Rooting For Dalton Harris

At least two of the past winners of the local televised talent competition Digicel Rising Stars are throwing their support behind alum Dalton Harris, who is now a contestant in a similar competition X Factor UK.

Romain Virgo, the 2007 winner, and Short Boss, who took home the title 10 years later in 2017, both have nothing but the best wishes for Harris, the 2010 winner, who has been steadily climbing the ranks of the competition of the past weeks with strong performances.

“It’s a beautiful move. Everybody have different dreams and goals. I have always said to him from day one that the way he sings and the kind of music that I know he wants to do, tapping into a market like that in such a way is the perfect way to reach to that level. He understands competition, having been part of Rising Stars, plus that Caribbean sound in that kind of market should all work for him. I am very proud of him and I just hope that Caribbean people will vote for him and help him to see his dream come true. It is such a joy to see him enjoying the experience and progressing with each week,” Virgo told the Jamaica Observer.

For Short Boss, it was much of the same love and support.

“When I saw him, I was like, ‘Why did he wait so long?’ Everybody knows what they have to do with their own lives, but I was wondering why he waited so long. He is doing so well. I just want to wish him all the best and hope that he comes out on top… I want him to come out on top.”

Harris is currently into the top 14 performers on the current season of X Factor UK. The next live show will be aired this Saturday on British broadcaster ITV, and the results show follows on Sunday.
