Beres Hits The Top Of Billboard Reggae Chart

Beres Hammond earns his third number one on the Billboard Reggae Album Chart this week with Never Ending, which was released on October 12 by VP Records. It enters with encouraging first-week sales of 1,607 copies.

Hammond’s previous album, One Love, One Life, launched with 2,178 copies in November 2012.

Never Ending has 14 tracks including I’m Alive (produced by Hammond’s Harmony House), Land of Sunshine and My Kinda Girl, which are produced by Kurt Riley. Other producers contributing to the set include Willie Lindo, Errol “Flabba Holt” Carter, Kirk Bennett, and Handel Tucker.

Never Ending makes its presence felt on other Billboard tables. It is number 120 on the Top Albums Chart, number 76 on Digital Albums, and number 22 on Independent Albums.

The album’s solid start is due to enthusiastic in-store launches at VP’s offices in Miramar, South Florida, and Queens, New York, on October 13 and 17th, respectively.

Elsewhere, Sting and Shaggy’s 44/876, which was number one last week drops to number two after selling an additional 718 copies. This is down from 850 the previous week, to bring its tally to 49,329 copies.

Last week’s number two, Free Rein by Rebelution, slips to number three with 129 copies sold this week, a slight drop from the 167 it sold previously. Its sales stands at 17,982.

Everyday Life, Everyday People by Slightly Stoopid is number four with figures of 13,573 copies. Making a big move to number five from 24 is Good Life by Collie Buddz, which has sold 6,521 copies.

Holding firm at number six for a second week is Lovers Rock by Estelle, while Iration’s self- titled set falls to number seven.

Vanessa Bling’s Still Standing EP re-enters the chart at number eight. Damian Marley’s Grammy-winning Stony Hill, which has to date sold 22,144 copies, is number nine.

Rounding out the Top 10 is Reggae Gold 2018, featuring various artistes, which has sold 1,845 copies.
