Blaxx buoyed by Gong’s Grammy

Producer Andrew ‘Anju Blaxx’ Myrie, buoyed by recognition for his work on Damian Marley’s Grammy-winning Stony Hill album, is back in the studio preparing for a busy recording schedule.

Heading the list of projects from his UIM Records is a new album from Konshens, and Shades of Grey, a song by British singer Tanika and UIM act Laren Luna. Myrie also has songs by Tommy Lee Sparta and Black Diamon in the works.

Known for producing hit songs such as Nymphomaniac by Vybz Kartel and No Compatible by Bugle, Stony Hill is Myrie’s first taste of international acceptance.

He has composer, production and engineer credits for two songs on the set which was released last year. They are Intro and Speak Life.

The 39-year-old Marley won his third Best Reggae Album award at last Sunday’s Grammys which took place at Madison Square Garden, in New York.

“The Grammy Awards is known to be competitive among various artistes and producers, and UIM is extremely pleased that our hard work throughout the years has been paying off. However, Anju Blaxx receiving a Grammy Award for his work alongside the legendary and award-winning artiste Junior Gong on the Stony Hill album is just a tip of the iceberg,” read a statement from UIM.
