With news emerging that popular dancehall entertainer Ninja Man is back behind bars, a few of his colleagues have come out in support of the ‘original Don Gorgon’.
Ninja Man, whose given name is Desmond Ballentine, had his bail revoked in the Home Circuit Court in downtown Kingston on Tuesday. His case has been before the courts since 2009.
Taking to social media yesterday to stand in solidarity with the artiste were entertainers Razor B and D’Angel.
The pair praised Ninja Man for his contribution to dancehall music, and asked for prayers for the entertainer as he prepares for a tough period in his life.
In his Instagram post yesterday, Razor B said that he knows Ninja Man has been waiting on the day his trial would begin for a long time as he wants the opportunity to prove his innocence and encouraged the artiste to remember that God is in control.
Mentor to her
When THE STAR spoke to D’Angel, she said that she decided to lend her support publicly so the entertainer, who has been like a mentor to her and countless other artistes, can see that he is not alone.
“I’ve known Ninja Man for a long time as an artiste and he has become a mentor and a friend. He’s always there to give good advice and he’s a really good person at heart. He’s one of the best persons that I’ve met in the industry,” she said. “You want to show people respect and love while you can, and so publicly I wanted to let Ninja Man know that we are here for him, we are rooting for him and he’s not in this alone.”
Fellow entertainer Pamputtae shared similar sentiments.
