ZJ Dymond Upbeat About Award Nomination

Popular Zip Jock Dymond, who is also the CEO of Fullchaarge Records, has been nominated for the 21st Hapilos Digital Music Awards’ People’s Choice Favourite Producer of the Year.

The disc jockey has been a part of the ZIP FM family for seven years, but crossed over into production in 2011 when his record label was established. ZJ Dymond’s popularity as a producer amplified three years ago after releasing the ‘Promiscuous’ rhythm, which featured Gully Bop’s Wuk Off A Mi and Vybz Kartel’s Pretty Position.

The disc jockey and producer also won the Dancehall Rhythm of the Year category for his Ghetto Bible production at the 2016 staging of the award ceremony.

When ZJ Dymond was asked to describe in one word what he owes his success to, his answer was “consistency.

“Basically, a career as a disc jockey and as a producer go hand in hand,” said ZJ Dymond. “I continue to apply the old saying of foundation people (in the entertainment industry), that ‘music is bigger than all of us’, so it’s important for me to create a balance with both careers and give everybody strength no matter what,” he said.

ZJ Dymond has released a few rhythms since the start of 2017, including ‘Nympho’, featuring dancehall recording artistes like Shenseea and Devin Di Dakta, and most recently a single with Charly Blacks called Gimme Yah So. His current focus is to promote Gimmi Yah So, as well as new projects that will show the world the upbeat and positive characteristics of dancehall music.

The young producer’s record label, FullChaarge Records, has been nominated alongside UIM Records, Cashflow Records, and 4thGenna Records. The public is allowed to vote for the nominees via 21st Hapilos’ social media pages
