Top Album One Of Five New Entries – Martin’s ‘Big Deal’ Debuts At No. 3

It is the week of new entries on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart for the week of March 4, 2017, as there are five new sets, one-third of the 15 albums in the listing. One of them is the No. 1-placed Fortunate Youth, a self-named set. Most of the new entries are concentrated in the top five, as there are two others – in third place is Big Deal (Christopher Martin), and the various artistes compilation, Get Soca 2017, is at No. 5.

Lat week’s No. 1, Lost in Paradise (Common Kings) has been pushed down to No. 2, while last week’s No. 2, Falling Into Place (Rebelution), is now fourth.

The other new entries are in the chart’s lowest third. EO Vol II (The Vitals BOB) is in 11th place and, So I Wander (Lion Ben-Hur) is in 14th.

HOLDING STEADY

Ziggy Marley’s Grammy-winning album has re-entered the listing at No. 8, and his brother Stephen’s Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life, is holding steady at No. 10. Most of the other movement is downward. In its 66th week on the chart, Stick Figure’s Set in Stone has fallen to seventh from fourth, while J Boog’s Wash House Ting, is now ninth, falling four places from last week.

London McNamara’s A Dollar Short & a Minute Late has dramatically dropped eight places from fourth to 12th, and Jemere Morgan’s Transition, has lost four slots to be at No. 13 this week. John Brown’s Body’s Fureflies, has re-enterd the chart at No. 15, the former No. 1 in its 10th week on the chart.
