Gramps Morgan Praises ‘Peetah’ Morgan’s Ability To Work The Stage During Performances

Biography: Morgan HeritageFollowing the death of Reggae group Morgan Heritage‘s lead singer Peter ‘Peetah’ Morgan on Sunday, February 25, an interview of Peter’s brother Gramps Morgan singing the band leader praises has surfaced online.

In an interview done seemingly before the passing of Peetah, Gramps talks about his brother being a “master” at controlling large crowds.

While detailing his point to I Never Knew Tv, Gramps Morgan outlines that during his solo journey in music, he missed Peter’s stage presence, so much so that he was told at one point that he’s too stiff on stage by Buju Banton.

Comparing when he was on stage with his brother versus when he was solo, Gramps states “i realise how dangerous my brother Peetah was, i never seen nobody work an audience like Peetah… there is no one like him.”

Morgan Heritage – Reggae NorthHe went on to declare that Peetah was the main reason why the band could take a break and return strong like they never break as a group after a 5-year hiatus.

Since news broke on Sunday about Peetah’s passing, countless Reggae and dancehall musicians have taken to social media to send their condolences to the Morgan family. Popcaan, Bounty Killer, Romain Virgo and many others have left remembrance posts online.

Sunday’s initial announcement via Morgan Heritage’s official Instagram page reads, “It is out of sincere love that we share that our beloved husband, father, son, and brother and lead singer of Morgan Heritage Peter Anthony Morgan has ascended today February 25th, 2024.”

Peter died at 46 years old. Neither the cause of death nor the location of his passing was mentioned to the public.
