A single tweet on the weekend about a possible collaboration between dancehall princess Shenseea and US rap sensation Nicki Minaj has left fans of the Romeich Entertainment singer bursting with excitement.
Rumours of a pending project between the two have been spreading like wildfire on social media, but the news is yet to be validated by a trustworthy source.
When contacted by THE STAR, Shenseea’s PR team was tight-lipped about the possible feature. Besides confirming that they have heard the rumours, the representative said that there was nothing to disclose at this time.
It is, however, no secret that Shenseea has had her sights set on the international circuit. In an interview with THE STAR last year, the entertainer said that although she has established a fan base across the globe, she will consider herself an international artiste when she gets to the level of artistes such as Rihanna, Beyonce, and Nicki Minaj.
She also noted that she had two collabs with international acts “that may be released soon”.
Months after that interview, the artiste released Blessed, a song with US rapper Tyga. That collab followed on the heels of an inclusion on Christina Aguilera’s Liberation album.
At the beginning of March, Shenseea released a picture of herself in the studio with rapper Meek Mill. Though it was not an official announcement that the two were working on a song, the caption indicated that it was a possibility.
“My work, my ShenYengz, and my God have got me to a different level. Let’s keep the movement strong and moving,” it read.
