UK-based dancehall artiste Stylo G is entering the Christmas season in really good spirits.
This week, his Dumpling (Remix), featuring Sean Paul and ‘ queen of the stage’ Spice, hit the Billboard Reggae Songs charts – taking third behind with It Wasn’t Me by Shaggy, featuring Rik Rok, and Three Little Birds by Bob Marley and The Wailers in the top spot.
“It’s a good feeling right now fi have a song inna the Billboard charts. Big up Sean Paul, Spice, and the whole team for making the project a success. Right now, it’s just climbing and going higher and higher. Everybody who is supporting the Dumpling song right now, big up unu self,” Stylo G told THE WEEKEND STAR.
Making the list is likely a cherry on top for the entertainer, who has enjoyed an impressive few weeks.
With the inclusion of one of dancehall’s megastar performers (Sean Paul) and the genre’s leading female (Spice) on the remix, the music video climbed to close to three million views in just 10 days.
Stylo G also made a memorable appearance at Red Bull Culture Clash Kingston, remixing Dumpling onstage for Team Riddimstream with jabs at Team Romeich Entertainment that drew wild applause and required a ‘pull-up’.
“We just give thanks. It’s a good feeling, trust me. Best feeling going into the Christmas season right now,” he added.
