Chris Martin Tops Billboard

Image result for chris martin reggae artistAnd Then, the sophomore album by singer Christopher Martin, enters the billboard Reggae Albums chart at number one this week. VP Records released the 15-song set on May 3.

“I feel blessed and it’s a really good feeling to know that all the hard work has paid off. The music isn’t falling on deaf ears. There is something on this album for everyone,” Martin said in an interview with the Jamaica Observer yesterday.

Typical of dancehall albums, And Then’s songs are produced by different producers such as Robert Livingston, Llamar “Riff Raff” Brown, Kingyard Productions, Fabrice “Frenchie” Allegre of Maximum Sound, White Gad Productions, and Chimney Records.

“This album is different from my last album, Big Deal. It has sweet reggae music and the production is very different. The songs cover a wide range of feelings and emotions,” Martin explained.

Image result for chris martin reggae artistSince he became a household name in 2005 after winning the keenly-contested Digicel Rising Stars competition, Martin has maintained the promise he showed then. He has released a number of hit songs including Big Deal, Cheaters Prayer, Fi Mi Fren Dem, and Under The Influence.

This is Martin’s third title on the billboard Reggae Albums chart. His Steppin Razor EP peaked at number 15 in 2015, while Big Dealreached number three in 2017.
