Harris’s version of ‘I Have Nothing’ is currently at number 32, the highest of any of his fellow X Factor contestants.
Following his virtuoso performance which earned a standing ovation during the the televised talent competition, Harris’s studio recording appeared on the charts, leading all his fellow competitors.
“This is not a surprise to me because Dalton has always had the talent, now he has the real opportunity to show the world his true talent and potential, and he is making the most of it,” manager Donovan Germain told Loop Jamaica reporter Claude Mills.
“I just want us all to continue to support him because as long as he continues to represent on the X Factor, he will keep Jamaica in the forefront of the minds of millions of people, while also promoting the talents of this wonderful little country.”
Only three other contestants made it on to the iTunes chart with only Boys Team member Anthony Russell, who performed Foreigner’s ‘I Want to Know What Love Is’; Scarlett Lee from the Girls Team who did Elvis Presley’s ‘Always On My Mind’ and the duo Misunderstood who performed a rework of ‘Close To You’ originally done by British-born reggae act Maxi Priest.
