FESTIVAL SEASON: Reggae on the Lawn takes place on August 20 at Forty Hall, Enfield
THE MAGNIFICENT grounds of Forty Hall in Enfield come to life with the sounds of reggae music for the first time on Saturday August 20, 2017 and you are invited to enjoy this musical extravaganza.
So, get ready to be entertained in grand style at Reggae on the Lawn (ROTL) 2017 at the Grade I listed venue by a legendary line-up of top artists. This community event plays host to Luciano, the king of conscious reggae, spreading the message of love: Godfather of Lovers Rock and Matumbi icon, Dennis Bovell and the energetic General Roots Band. Supporting acts include: Warsaw-born Emilyah radiating raw reggae; Dennis Brown Jr; the youngest son of the late, great Crown Prince; father and son duo Ras Rubeneer and PRB also Nu Flowah, talented proponent of ska and grassroots reggae.
Hosts on the day are the award-winning comedian Quincy, founder of the Comedy Lounge and TV presenter Scarlette Douglas from A Place in the Sun.
ROTL 2017 is a major event bringing the community together with reggae music, food and fun activities for all, especially families. There’s face painting and inflatable activities for children, a delicious variety of food, a fully licensed bar as well as the chance to win flights to the Caribbean.
ROTL 2017 is presented by MIHO (Make it Happen Organisation) who have been delivering quality events for eight years, in partnership with Friends of Forty Hall Park Forty Hall House.
The event aims to raise awareness and funds for the Friends of Forty Hall Park, as well as national and local charities.
Forty Hall, which has a programme of tours, talks and concerts, is the perfect setting for this exciting reggae spectacle. The 273 acre Grade I listed estate is a rare example of an intact 18th century landscape, boasting an ornamental lake and Georgian flora and fauna.
