He’s A ‘Big Deal’ – Chris Martin Launches Debut Album

Christopher Martin is happy with his growth as a professional artiste.

The singer, who won the Digicel Rising Stars competition in 2005, was speaking at the launch of his debut album, Big Deal, at the Spanish Court Hotel, where he revealed that after 12 years in the business, he is grateful for the opportunities he has been afforded.

“Ever since I came to Kingston and started doing music, I’ve been given the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people … . I was just about music and creating music,” he said, describing his debut project as magic. “The highlight for me (on the album journey) was just going into the studio and feeling creative, like I had many different topics I could sing about. I never felt like I had writer’s block or felt like it wasn’t a good day on any day. Once I got into that studio, I just knew it was going to be magic.”

Held by the poolside of the hotel, the listening party attracted a number of persons from the music fraternity as entertainers and producers alike turned up to support Martin’s maiden compilation.

Beenie Man, Agent Sasco, Jordan McClure and David ‘Hizzle’ Hayle, as well as Tina and Gary Matalon, were among the guests.

Quiet Headphones provided the ultimate listening experience as guests were put in charge of the music.

Aside from the sweet sounds of reggae music, those in attendance were also treated to sugary delights courtesy of caterer Jacqui Tyson and her team.

And, of course, the launch couldn’t and wouldn’t have been an authentic ‘big deal’ experience without some KFC chicken.
