Reggae singer Sophia Brown has released her latest single Only Jamaica, which pays homage to the country of her birth. Released January 13, the track is produced by Buck Town Production and distributed by Zojak World Wide.
“Crime and violence are so rampant in certain parts of our country right now, that I wanted to personally let people who live abroad understand that, despite our challenges, Jamaica is still a beautiful island. I wanted to make a song that focuses on the positive things about our island … our food, our beaches, our successes in sports, and our music. I also wanted to let them know that we have a rich cultural heritage and, as a people, we stand for what we believe in, and that is what the song is about,” she said.
Now the single is completed, Brown said her next project is completing an album.
“My first order of business, after this, is to finish my album so that I get back on stage and in the thick of things,” she said.
“I was overseas for a while and most of my recent performances have been there. Now that I am back home, I am eager to get back on stage to do what I love to do best, which is performing for fans. I plan to bring my A-game to ensure everyone has a great time,” she added.
